We instinctively know that this kind of communication (or lack of communication) is toxic for a marriage. What we don’t so easily see is that the same lack of communication is equally toxic to our staff and employees.
According to the Gallup organization one of the key factors in measuring organizational health is whether or not workers have received recognition or praise for the efforts in the last seven days. In the last seven days? I know leaders who haven’t recognized or praised their employees in the last seven years!
Maybe it’s time to put down the proverbial newspaper, get out from behind our desks and go find a reason to tell our team how we really feel about them. What do you think?
