From my dad.
It didn’t work out so well.
How do we become better leaders? We read books and articles, we talk about it with other leaders, we attend conferences, take classes, and attempt to put into practice what we’ve learned. But most of us have very little idea what our leadership really “sounds” like. It’s rare that anyone other than our employees, staff, and followers observe us in action. It’s rarer that they are qualified and willing to give us feedback. It’s exceedingly rare that they would return to monitor our progress as we practice. And yet, this is how improvement occurs in any area of life, including leadership.
So, how do we incorporate this kind of learning in our lives? Stay tuned for some practical steps.
